27th May 2009
On Monday night May 25, 2009 IQ sponsored and hosted over 100 people at the inaugural South African Business Network Meeting in Sydney.
The Network focuses on providing a Support System for South Africans in Australia and in particular in Sydney. The support network helps
South Africans to progress in business by helping to build a new business network and putting them in contact with other South Africans who did
or are still going through the phases of moving to a new country.
The Melbourne-based network run by Roelof de Kok, IQ Australia’s Finance Manager, has been running for over 12 months to great effect.
Alan Greenstein, IQ Australia Executive Director, who recently joined the IQ Sydney office had decided to initiate the network in Sydney.
Hosted at the NSW Department of Trade in the MLC Centre in the heart of Sydney, the first session was an overwhelming success.
The guest speakers on the night included the Senior Manager for International Business for NSW Department of Trade, Adrian Woods; the
CEO of South African Airways Australasia, Thevan Krishna; who was acting as a delegate for the South African High Commission endorsing
the initiative and Gary Foweraker, the Event Administrator. Alan Greenstein wrapped up the speeches by outlining the aim and objectives of
the group as well as providing an overview of IQ’s services.
IQ looks forward to future events and would like to thank everyone who attended for making it a successful first of many.
